Leadership Update from the Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of Onthatile Children’s Ministries wishes to inform our ministry family and supporters of a change in leadership.
Following an investigation conducted by the Board in cooperation with the leadership of Antioch Bible Church, it was established that Joel Kirby engaged in moral misconductwith a member of staff. This represented a serious violation of the biblical and ethical standards expected of the ministry’s leadership.
Joel is no longer serving in the operational leadership of Onthatile, and the staff member involved is also no longer serving with the organization.
The Board has appointed Duncan Govender as Interim Operations Director, with responsibility for the day-to-day operational and financial leadership of the ministry under the authority and oversight of the Board.
The Board is actively overseeing this transition and is reviewing Onthatile’s governance, accountability, personnel and safeguarding structures.
The care of the children and families entrusted to Onthatile continues.
We grieve the serious consequences of this situation and ask for prayer for the families, staff, children, church family and ministry partners who have been affected. We also ask for prayer for wisdom, integrity and grace as the Board and staff lead Onthatile forward.
